For years, Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) has played a key role in the promotion and monitoring of renewable energy deployment and energy efficiency in Italy. From its privileged position it has the opportunity to observe and contribute to the statement of new paradigms of sustainable development, in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda, embracing all dimensions of human life and our planet.
The GSE Report, following the ongoing commitment to transparency, gives access to all data and analysis of the energy and economic activities carried out by the company in 2017. It provides public decision makers, private operators and citizens with useful information to track the evolution of the national energy system.
The promotion mechanisms managed by the GSE have proven to be effective over the years: even in 2017, for the fourth consecutive year, Italy has exceeded the threshold of 17% of consumption satisfied by renewable energy. This aim was assigned to GSE by the Law 2009 / 28 / CE for the year 2020. Preliminary estimates for 2017 indicate a figure of around 17.6%, slightly above the 17.4% of 2016.
