Accelerating the renewable energy transition in Ethiopia
Business-To-Government high level workshop
March 7th, 2019
Sheraton Hotel, Addis Ababa
RES4Africa is organizing a high-level Business-to-Government (B2G) workshop focused on the long-term strategies for integrating renewable energy into the national electric system, attracting investments and exploiting the socio-economic benefits of renewables in Ethiopia. Furthermore, the results of the study “Integration of variable renewable energy into the national electric system” - carried out by RES4Africa and Enel Foundation, thanks to the expertise of CESI consultant - will be presented. The abstract of the study is already available at this link.
The workshop will take place in the form of a closed-door event and will involve Ethiopian key stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity, Ethiopian Electric Power, Ethiopian Electric Agency, Ethiopian Electric Utility, and multilateral agencies, like the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the African Union Commission.
Since RES4Africa is a connecting platform of public and private sector companies, the workshop will be an important occasion for a proactive dialogue with local institutions, the most relevant stakeholders of the Ethiopian electricity market and international companies.
