South Africa Programme presented to country’s main stakeholders

RES4Africa, in collaboration with CSIR, today held a closed session to present its South Africa Just Energy Transition study to the country’s most relevant stakeholders.

The key objective of the meeting, which was attended by about 30 participants from utilities, government associations and organisations, private sector companies, renewable energy industry associations and international institutions, was to present the outcomes of the study “Development of a Re-Skilling Plan in support of a just energy transition”, and was followed by a positive and constructive discussion which allowed to gather feedback and general advice to strengthen the Foundation’s contribution to an effective and just energy transition. The meeting finally provided the opportunity to present the Programme’s upcoming steps, which include a virtual event to be held in Autumn to officially present the outcomes of the study.

RES4Africa Foundation’s mission in the country is to concretely support the South African energy transition by promoting policy dialogue and providing technical assistance and capacity building. For more information, click here.
