The ATC kicks off its seventh session online

The new format allows the participation of 200 highly-achieving young participants

The seventh edition of RES4Africa’s Advanced Training Course kicks off this morning.

Organised in partnership with Enel Foundation, the ATC is traditionally held in Milan for two intensive weeks and open to about 40 participants. Due to the current situation, this year the course will count 10 weekly online sessions between November and February: this format allows the participation of 200 African young high-level professionals and middle-managers serving in public institutions, energy companies, universities and research agencies, the best-performing of whom will have the opportunity to take part in the physical session in 2021.

The online sessions will address specific issues concerning renewable energy, from energy access to bankability and project finance. During the sessions, participants will also gain an understanding of RES4Africa’s strategic programmes such as the Missing Link and the renewAfrica Initiative, and focus on particular regional contexts such as the ones of North Africa and South Africa. The quality of the sessions is ensured by the involvement of international experts with different backgrounds, who will provide a wide and comprehensive overview of the most appropriate energy solutions for Africa.

“Training and capacity building programmes are a key pillar of RES4Africa’s operate, as they are fundamental for the deployment of renewables in Africa” explains Roberto Vigotti, Secretary General of RES4Africa Foundation, “I thank the experts of member and partner organisations for being available to contribute to what I’m sure will be an excellent training programme, and wish a great ATC to all participants”.
