The 10th edition of the Micro-Grid Academy was carried out in Pemba, Mozambique, from 17th to 27th February 2020. The MGA session took place in the framework of the project ILUMINA: Access to Energy for the local development and women empowerment, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by AVSI, partner of the Academy, together with Tecnologie Solidali and RES4Africa.
The training aimed to enhance the capacities of local stakeholders operating in the renewable energy and rural electrification field, through a participatory integrated approach with a focus on local economy development and women empowerment.
28 participants from local governmental institutions attended the training, consisting in two-weeks of theoretical classes and technical workshops focused on current Mozambique energy situation, uses of energies in Water-Energy-Food Nexus approach, financial models, micro grid sizing and environmental and social impact assessment.
