In the first half of 2018, the Micro-Grid Academy (MGA) successfully gathered 74 participants, with several backgrounds, interests and professional profiles.
As next step, RES4Africa proposed to the MGA founding partners to organize a training needs assessment to collect inputs and point of views from key stakeholders about the MGA’s syllabus, trainings and structure.
Thanks to the support of Enel Foundation, the first MGA Design Thinking Workshop was held in Nairobi from 10th to 13th of July, 2018. The workshop was structured in four “creative thinking” sessions attended by 18 participants from Kenya, with equal gender representation and a wide range of entity and seniority. It successfully involved scholars from Open Africa Power and universities, representatives from NGOs, companies, start-ups, consultants, engineers, women entrepreneurs, village technicians, trainers and experts.
