The second “MGA on-tour” session, titled “Training on mini-grids: from design to integration of productive uses through the Water-Energy-Food Nexus”, was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 17 to 22 June 2019.
Hosted by the Addis Ababa Institute of Technology, part of the Addis Ababa University (AAU), the training attracted a total of 54 participants from Ethiopian Electric Utility, the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth, AICS, IFAD, Addis Ababa University, African Union and local stakeholders in the energy sector.
The classes were held by RES4Africa members BFP, Prysmian, Enel Green Power, RINA Consulting and by Addis Ababa University, ARE, CEFA ONLUS, WindKinetic, InspiraFarms and Open Africa Power alumni.
The participants had the opportunity to attend the RES4Africa Annual Conference, “Overcoming Africa’s Energy Access Gap: Strategic Priorities for Scaling Up Renewables”, and to spend one day in field visit to the hybrid mini-grid installed by Enel Green Power in St. Luke Hospital in Wolisso.
