MGA Past trainings - January 2018 - Nairobi, Kenya
The Micro-Grid Academy platform was officially launched in Nairobi in January 2018, with a 10-days training courses attended by 40 participants form East Africa and Europe and co-organized with the Italian non-profit organization Tecnologie Solidali.
The training activities were held at the partners’ premises in Nairobi and included site visits at the UN Headquarter, as well as the mini-grid of Kitonyoni, Makueni County, and to the geothermal plant of Naivasha.
Among the trainers, lectures were given by Strathmore University, KPLC, St. Kizito, GIZ, UN-Habitat, SIGORA, Sapienza University, RES4Africa, State University of NY, Columbia University and MIT.
At the end of the training course, the participants had the opportunity to attend and present the activities of the first Micro-Grid Academy at the RES4Africa conference “Renewable Energy in East-Africa: New Frontiers” held at the Strathmore University of Nairobi.
