RES4Africa People
Roberto Vigotti is the Secretary General of RES4Africa Foundation.
In his 30+ year-long career he has covered various positions at Enel, University of Pisa, IEA and IRENA. When it was still considered an unlikely option, he was already convinced that deploying renewable energy in Africa would result in a positive socioeconomic impact for its population. In 2012, he therefore embarked on the RES4Africa adventure, to support a wider participation of private players in delivering investments in Africa.
He also coordinates the renewAfrica Initiative.
Josefina has extensive experience in the area of sustainable development, poverty reduction and inclusion, acquired through leading positions in OXFAM, The World Bank, and IFAD. She now manages high-level multilateral relations, and is focal point for the renewAfrica initiative.
Carlo has a wide experience in the energy sector. He worked for the most important companies and institutions in Europe and in Russia in the field of renewables, electricity production and power management. He is passionate about communications and innovation and has always worked in multicultural teams, using the different members’ capacities to contribute to a common mission and lead the development of renewable energy solutions in the world.
Passionate about writing and international cooperation, Antonella is proactive and driven by curiosity, qualities that are essential in her job. Her experience in the field in many different parts of the world has given her a clear understanding of the crucial role that communications can make in creating real change.
Stefano strongly believes that narrating is almost as important as doing. In a world of whirling environmental, social and economic changes, he is proud to give a contribution in communicating key messages, while inspiring and moving people towards battles worth fighting for.
Marta strongly believes that the development of competences and sharing of experiences are essential to create innovative solutions for economic and job opportunities and to enable the communities in responding to environmental challenges like access to energy and climate change.
Elena works as Project Officer for the Micro-grid Academy. She believes that providing access to education opportunities and building local capacities in the renewable energy sector are the first fundamental steps to build a sustainable energy system able to support Countries’ development and protect the environment.
Flavia is responsible of capacity building initiatives such as the Advanced Training Course for which she is the principal organizer. Flavia strongly believes in the power of the projects and loves to help and witness the trainees reaching their goals and objectives.
Being an experimented policy and regulation advisor in the electricity sector, Andrea is driven by his daily purpose of contributing to Africa’s development. Passionate about energy policies, geopolitics and development issues, Andrea nourishes his appetite through the leading of studies aiming at driving Africa’s sustainable energy revolution.
As sub-Saharan Region Programme Manager, Antonio promotes policy dialogue and coordinates strategic analysis on the drivers to enable renewable energy investments in Africa.
Before joining RES4Africa, he worked for seven years on the technical, economic, policy and social dimensions of the energy transition from a business perspective.
As a partnership and relational marketing professional, Marianna loves to discover how the world looks like from news perspectives. Marianna is responsible for the South Africa Programme local deployment and stakeholders’ engagement and is motivated to use her skills to contribute to high socio-economic objectives such as Africa’s just energy transition.
As an Energy Analyst on RES4Africa’s Sub-Saharan Team, Iarina works towards finding practical solutions to Africa’s energy sector challenges. She firmly believes that by integrating efforts from local communities, governments and the private sector, we can ensure long-lasting positive impact.
Ilaria strongly believes in the power of sustainable energy and leading developing countries to their transition. Taking example on her past international experience, Ilaria loves working and learning from people from other countries and regions of the world, which makes, according to her, the quality of her work.
As a Specialist MENA Region, Rima is committed to a just and clean energy transition in the Mediterranean region. Rima has progressive experience in public policy, evidence-based policymaking, sustainable development, human rights and climate change, acquired through positions in EU Programmes, Public Institutions, International Organisations and NGOs.
